Environmental Protection Law
The Environmental
Protection Law, promulgated in 1979 and revised in 1989, has 6 chapters and 47 articles.
It provides in Article 17 that governments at different levels should establish nature
reserves to protect important natural ecosystems, habitats for rare and endangered wild
animals and plants, watershed and relict sites.
